Marketing and Communications Committee Lead (Volunteer)

Time commitment: This is a long-term volunteer role that requires a time commitment of approximately 5-8 hours per week.

Start date: ASAP

Location of volunteer work: Home office

Reports to: FOAG Board of Directors

Position:
The Marketing and Communications Committee Lead will work closely with the board, staff, and a team of volunteers to plan and implement marketing, communications, and social media programs that meet the strategic objectives of the organization.

Duties:

  • Develop a communications plan and social media strategy;

  • Coordinate a committee of volunteers to implement the plan;

  • Oversee Public Relations and media activities;

  • Act as a resource and provide leadership on marketing, communications, and social media to meet FOAG’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in public relations, communications, media, and marketing;

  • A passion for the park and knowledge of the Allan Gardens community;

  • Experience working with volunteers and not-for-profit organizations is an asset;

  • Excellent command of the English language, with exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills;

  • An enthusiasm for generating creative ideas and solutions;

  • Strong organization skills and capable of meeting deadlines;

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and motivated to work as an individual.
