Coffee at Allan Gardens!

  • 160 Gerrard Street East Toronto, ON M5A 2E5 Canada (map)

On July 7, 2025, Café du Jardin officially opens its doors at the heart of Toronto's historic Allan Gardens, welcoming residents, visitors and community members to discover a unique café experience where coffee, nature, culture and social impact come together.

 Join us on Tuesday, July 7th at 10am for opening day with Ward 13 Councillor Chris Moise! Grab a coffee, a pastry, and enjoy the gardens!

Café du Jardin is an initiative of La Passerelle-I.D.É., developed in collaboration with the Friends of Allan Gardens. Located just steps from L'Agapanthe Transition Home, Toronto's first Francophone transitional residence serving refugees and refugee claimants, the café creates meaningful pathways to employment, confidence and belonging.

Every cup served contributes to:

  • creating first employment opportunities;

  • providing practical work experience and mentoring;

  • supporting newcomers rebuilding their lives in Canada;

  • strengthening Toronto's Francophone community;

  • fostering social inclusion through hospitality and community.

Café du Jardin is also a celebration of Toronto's French-speaking community. Through coffee, fresh pastries, conversation and cultural programming, the café creates a welcoming bilingual environment where French, English and the many languages spoken across Toronto are embraced together.
